The Loft Bar and Restaurant at Durty Nellys, Bunratty

This project was tricky to tie down a design direction because we had to respect the heritage of this 300 year old pub while bringing its 1st floor bar and restaurant back to life. We aimed to make it more female friendly and to bring more light into the rear area where it was dark with low ceilings. The key to our design was to use traditional detailing and use more contemporary ways of treating them. Like for example using the timber wainscot sheeting which was painted with contemporary bright colours of duck egg blue and light grey. The decorative items were hung in uniform and grouped displays contrasting the higgledy piggledy look of the downstairs  bar.
